It's
7:08 in the morning and I'm sitting at the Dallas/Fort
Worth airport at a TGIF restaurant with my 14-year-old
son and my 13-year-old brother. We're on our way
to have a bit of Fun at Disney World, Epcot Center,
Universal studios, etc. in beautiful Orlando Florida.
Ooops, I almost forgot to mention that we just missed
our flight. I couldn't believe it. When
we got to the gate there were three attendants working
at the counter. As we got closer to the counter
- breathing hard due to our track and field sprint effort
may I add - I heard one of the flight attendants say,
"here they come." I smiled with a sigh of relief
because I knew they were expecting us. However,
when I got up to the counter, one of the flight attendants
looked at me with a smile and walked right over to the
boarding gate and closed it. She came back and
said these words that have been ringing in my ear for
the last 25 minutes: YOU SHOULD HAVE COME
EARLIER. I couldn't believe she said that.
"Doesn't she know who I am - I thought to myself
-- I am Jerry "DRhino" Clark. I fly all over the
world impacting people with philosophies, strategies,
concepts, and techniques that can truly revolutionize
their personal and professional lives. I have
produced over 100 of the most empowering audio programs
in the Network Marketing Industry. I have a big
house and fancy cars. I, I, I...I think you get
the point. After I realized that she didn't know
or seem to care who I was, I thought I would try and
pull a little status on her by saying, "I travel over
100,000 miles per year with your airline and I'm an
Executive Platinum Member. I'm taking the kids
to Disney World, the plane is still here, can you just
let us on so we can go and enjoy Sunny Florida."
All three of the attendants stopped what they were doing
and looked at me as if they were practicing for a synchronized
swimming event... And then one of the attendants said,
"You're Executive Platinum... That's Good... YOU
SHOULD HAVE COME EARLIER." She didn't
seem to have any sense of empathy... No sympathy...
No pity... As I walked away like a whipped puppy
dog with its tail between its legs, the lady's comment
kept coming up in my head, YOU SHOULD HAVE COME
EARLIER. As I walked to the ticket counter
to check in for another flight, I tried to get mad at
the agent because I felt like blaming someone but the
expression "YOU SHOULD HAVE COME EARLIER" came to me.
Every time I tried to forget about it, the expression
YOU SHOULD HAVE COME EARLIER kept popping
in my mind. The kids and I sat down at TGIF to
have breakfast and I told them I had to get out my laptop
and write so I can get something off of my mind.
Hence,
Rhino Tip:
What's
the point to all of this and what does it have to do
with your business or life? Good question... Well,
think of all of the people in our society who at the
age of 65 realize that they've gotten to the gate and
the gate attendant looks at them and closes the door
on them. They were expecting to take a trip to
the Land of Paradise and they realize that they are
stuck in the Cow Pastures of life. And there's
no sympathy, empathy, or pity from either the government
or their employer. The bottom line is they should
have thought about their family's future earlier.
They should have prepared better. They should
have taken care of things early on instead of waiting
until the last minute. They should have read more
empowering books. They should have listened to
more uplifting tape programs. They should have
attended more life changing seminars. They should
have committed to CANI (Constant And Never-ending Improvement)...
That's right folks... THEY SHOULD HAVE COME EARLIER.
Don't let this be you... You have the ability – through
the power of Network Marketing - to set yourself and
your family up for life... Stay focused on your Networking
opportunity and commit to doing the simple disciplines
that will yield you super success. You have time
to get prepared if you DO IT NOW... Just be sure
not to miss your Flight to The Land of Paradise... Your
layover may be a lot longer than the 3 hours we're here
for...
Until
Next Time... Go, Go, Go!!!
